Sarajevski kiseljak - Carbonated natural mineral water
The best-selling carbonated mineral water in Bosnia and Herzegovina boasting a tradition spanning 120 years.
Sarajevski kiseljak is sodium-magnesium-bicarbonate-sulphate mineral water and one the best mineral waters in the world. Sarajevski kiseljak is a natural mineral water emerging from mineral springs located 150 to 300 meters below the surface, enriched with minerals dissolved as the water percolates through volcanic rock formations. Natural crystal clear water with balanced mineral content is bottled in a technologically advanced bottling plant and protected from any exposure to pollutants.
Sarajevski kiseljak was first sold as bottled water in 1891.
The earliest records on Kiseljak date back to the 16th century, to the year 1530 when Kiseljak "Sauer Brunnen" was mentioned by Benedikt Kuripešić, a Slovenian who had kept a travel journal in German on his travels as a royal emissary to Constantinople.
Kiseljak water was professionally analysed for the first time in 1886 by Professor E. Ludwig, an advisor at the imperial court in Vienna, invited by the Bosnian government to analyse mineral waters in Bosnia. He summarized the results of his analysis using the following words: “This mineral water is very rich in carbon dioxide, Glauber’s salt and iron; owing to its chemical composition, it is a speciality among European mineral waters.”
Sarajevski kiseljak is a sodium-magnesium-bicarbonate-sulphate mineral water and one the best natural mineral waters in the world. Its chemical composition and beneficial properties have positive effects on human health and help the prevention and treatment of many illnesses.
In 2013 Sarajevski kiseljak launched Sensation, a new and widely successful brand extension, which immediately succeeded in winning a dominate position in the flavoured mineral water market in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
